You had the opportunity to try some VR glasses and to get in touch with the unknown hybrid world.<\/p>\n<p>There was also a huge buzz about apps using AR &#8211; (thank you Pokemon Go \ud83d\ude42 ). Some industries try to use VR technologies on their POS, but my point of view is, <strong>that these technologies will need more time to become a regular feature of the marketing process of marketers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Make your ads more relevant for your customers<\/h3>\n<p>Another hot topic was, how advertisers can get in touch with their customers. To be more precise: How is it possible to make ads more relevant for customers and generate valuable traffic on homepages or in web shops? Here are two dominant keywords, which chased me through the expo: <strong>Programmatic Advertising and Customer Journey<\/strong>. Advertisers want to support their customers directly by the POS or want to be within spitting distance.<\/p>\n<h3>Customer privacy<\/h3>\n<p>How much information is allowed to track from your customers? And first of all, what is allowed to save permanently? Lots of exhibitors said, that protection of private data is one of their primary goals. Especially for retailers, <strong>it is important to know who their customers are and to give them the feeling that they are using the data in a safe way.<\/strong> As usual, there had been many discussions about the different privacy laws between the EU and the US.<br \/>\nEveryone knows Retargeting or recommendations, like at Amazon, and I think many people love them and can profit off them. Customers can save time and may find their desired products way faster.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/smarter-ecommerce.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/dmexco2016-2.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3734\" src=\"https:\/\/smarter-ecommerce.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/dmexco2016-2.png\" alt=\"dmexco2016-2\" width=\"540\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/smarter-ecommerce.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/dmexco2016-2.png 540w, https:\/\/smarter-ecommerce.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/dmexco2016-2-225x300.png 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"team-whoop-team-adengine-dream-team\"><\/span>Team Whoop! + team AdEngine = dream team<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This year six guys of the <a href=\"https:\/\/smarter-ecommerce.com\/en\/\">smec<\/a> and Whoop!-family traveled to the dmexco &#8211; including me. At the beginning, the plan was that two of us explore the halls and listen to some of the <strong>570 (!) speakers<\/strong>. But you know sometimes things are changing really fast. In preparation of the expo we did a lot of research and so we were able to determine many meetings at our booth in hall 9,\u00a0hence haven\u2019t had time to listen to the ingenious speakers.<br \/>\nBut the <strong>big hype about <a href=\"https:\/\/smarter-ecommerce.com\/whoop\/en\/\">Whoop!<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/smarter-ecommerce.com\/adengine\/en\/\">AdEngine<\/a><\/strong> was just overwhelming and, to be honest, surprised us: two days, six marketing specialists, 15 m2 space and believe it or not: 58 meetings beat our expectations completely.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/smarter-ecommerce.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/dmexco2016-3.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-2\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3735\" src=\"https:\/\/smarter-ecommerce.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/dmexco2016-3.png\" alt=\"dmexco2016-3\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/smarter-ecommerce.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/dmexco2016-3.png 960w, https:\/\/smarter-ecommerce.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/dmexco2016-3-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/smarter-ecommerce.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/dmexco2016-3-768x576.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nUnfortunately, there was not much time to explore the other expo halls &#8211; however, our appearance was a big success for our company. <strong>We inspired many people for Whoop! and the AdEngine<\/strong>.
