Data Engineer

Linz, full-time, m/f/x

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, building, and operating data pipelines to provide meaningful insight into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business development metrics. You will be actively involved in the expansion of our methodical Data Engineer focal points. Additionally, you will independently deal with state-of-the-art issues and derive solutions as well as suggestions for improvement. In your role, you will also assume responsibility for database and pipeline operations.

Your tasks

  • You create requirement analyses in accordance with  the various stakeholders
  • You analyse and build data models for business-related reports
  • You work closely with different departments and assist in solving data-related technical issues
  • You build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Google Big Query
  • You conceive, create and take care of the smooth operation of the data pipeline.
  • You develop concepts for new reports and visualisations and the continuous improvement of existing reports
  • You are working on the establishment of a data warehouse in a data-driven company

Your profile

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics or related studies 
  • Practical experience in a comparable position would be an advantage 
  • Profound knowledge in the areas of reporting, data analysis or data integration
  • Experience with business intelligence and data analysis tools
  • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases
  • You have experience in scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience in setting up Data Warehouses
  • Optionally, you have experience with Stream and Batch data processing solutions (e.g. Google Dataflow). 
  • You have strong communication skills
  • You have an analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • A structured and strategic approach is what sets you apart

For legal reasons, we draw attention to the minimum salary under the collective agreement of € 2,461 gross (14 times p.a.) for this position. The actual salary depends on your qualifications and experience, a willingness to overpay is given.
