Pricing Analyst

As pricing analyst of smec you are the leading 'brain' for our pricing strategy, for both our software solutions and our services. Furthermore you are consultant and sparring partner for our sales team and our product managers. You always have an eye for the market and keep yourself informed about current trends and benchmarks. Furthermore you accompany and advise in strategic price definitions and model new price models.

Your tasks

  • You are responsible for the development of pricing models and accompany the strategic price definition.
  • You advise and accompany our product managers who are responsible for the development of price proposals for existing and new products.
  • You will maintain an overview of all existing price models, know our current contracts, their validity periods as well as terms and make expert recommendations with regard to possible optimisation.
  • You understand how dynamic prices can be, and simply know which price model we can offer from a system-technical point of view.
  • You will act as a consulting and sparring partner for our sales teams with regard to subsequent negotiations and accompany them to major clients.
  • You continuously analyse the market with regard to price trends and always keep an eye on the competition including their pricing – in the form of evaluations and interpretations from different data sources.
  • You will support our product managers in the preparation of the "Pricing Council", a platform where final pricing models are adopted together with the management.
  • You will test prices and thus check the marketability of the existing price and escalation levels.
  • You will actively work on the improvement and further development of systems and databases in the pricing area.
  • You enjoy convincing and training our sales teams with regard to pricing and new pricing trends.
  • You have the necessary knowledge of which pricing models can be mapped in our billing system.

Your profile

  • You have a degree in economics, ideally in business administration, economics or business informatics.
  • You can prove at least 5 years of experience as a pricing manager or have comparable skills as a business analyst.
  • You have strong analytical and conceptual skills, with a focus on details, and know how to draw the right conclusions from numbers.
  • You have a psychological understanding and know how price mechanisms work.
  • You excel in creativity in the generation of ideas.
  • You have a strong understanding of sales requirements.
  • You are an energetic team player with a high level of commitment and you work independently to optimally master our challenges.
  • You are direct and you communicate effectively, both in German and English.

We offer a minimum salary of EUR 3,048 for this position, adjusted to match your qualifications and experience.
